## ## York RUFC brush off rivals Beverley in Yorkshire One

Shortly before the interval, Eric Hall was shown a yellow card for an intentional knock on. Fox was next to pick up a card for a high tackle but Beverley failed to score.

Barney Carter scored for Beverley after an over thrown line out with Rob Smith kicking the conversion to make it 17 10.

Beverley spurned good chances. They had a kickable penalty, 40 metres out, but tapped it and knocked on. Junior Tupai was also adjudged to have passed the ball forward on another occasion.

As York attacked again, Newitt was in the back line attacking from second receiver. He was elusive, found space and ran through a gap in Beverley defence to score. Davies converted for 31 17.

Tupai was guilty of off to the referee as Beverley prepared to re start the game and was shown a yellow card.

York received a penalty, Sam Forbes attacked, and Lewis Hannibal scored against a dispirited Beverley defence. Davies missed the conversion to leave it 36 17.
